Lancaster County man threw planter, punched through glass door at ex’s home, police say

An Elizabethtown man was charged with burglary and assault after police said he threw a planter through the glass door of his ex-partner’s home.

On Sept. 26, police were called to a home on Turnpike Road in Elizabethtown for reports of a domestic disturbance, where they found Michael J. Symmonds, 45, bleeding from his hands while trying to break into his ex’s home.

According to a police affidavit, Symmonds smelled of alcohol and was detained. The victim told police he showed up at her home drunk, yelling, and demanded to be let in…
