Mechanicsburg teen charged for Penn State dorm room assault

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WTAJ) – A former Penn State student has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly forcing another student to engage in sexual acts with him in his dorm room.

Samuel Logan, 18, of Mechanicsburg was charged with felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, sexual assault and strangulation as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent assault by forcible compulsion and simple assault.

On Sept. 7, 2023, Logan invited a female student to his dorm after exchanging messages with her throughout the day. According to a criminal complaint, the victim walked to Logan’s dorm with two friends and asked those friends to call her after 10 minutes to facilitate her leaving the room as she did not want to stay long.

Upon her entering the room, Logan and the victim exchanged small talk and began to “make out”. Logan allegedly began to strangle the victim, spit on her, bite her and force her to perform sexual acts on him. During this time, the victim’s friends attempted to contact her by her phone, but Logan put the phone out of the victim’s reach, according to the victim’s statement.
