Sunnyside Street Turns Deadly In Midafternoon Houston Stabbing

Houston’s Sunnyside neighborhood was rattled Wednesday afternoon after a stabbing left at least one person dead, drawing a swift response from police and leaving residents on edge as the investigation got underway.

According to FOX 26 Houston, officers were called to the area of Cullen near Wenda around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found at least one person who had been killed. Police have not released the victim’s name or shared any information about a possible motive as homicide detectives work the case.

The killing took place near the intersection of Cullen Boulevard and Wenda Street in Sunnyside, a longtime Southeast Houston neighborhood where residents and nonprofits have been organizing cleanups and community initiatives this year, the Houston Chronicle reported.
