Investigation finds fire at Knox County apartment was intentional

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Investigators have determined that a fire Rural Metro firefighters responded to at an apartment on Walker Springs Road Wednesday was intentionally set, the fire department told 6 News.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday evening that it has issued a “BOLO” notice for a 2015 Cadillac displaying a University of Tennessee Power T and believed to be occupied by a white male.

Around 1:15 p.m., Rural Metro Fire responded to a fire at an apartment in the 700 block of Walker Springs Road.

Rural Metro said when firefighters arrived, they found a laundry room inside the apartment on fire, and the fire was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported…
