After a nearly two and a half hour long closed session meeting on Tuesday night, the board of directors for The Historic Lyric Theatre voted to dismiss executive director Christian Adair effective immediately.
Members of the board declined to answer questions from the Herald-Leader following the meeting, and a Wednesday morning press release does not say why the board decided to part ways with Adair.
“The Historic Lyric Theatre is a vital community institution and an important part of Lexington’s East End,” said board Chair Wallace Barber in the release. “The Board is focused on operational excellence, responsible financial stewardship, transparency, policy compliance, and a safe, welcoming environment for patrons, partners, staff, volunteers, and the community.”…
