Speed limit lowered on notorious stretch of Highway 107 in Sherwood

SHERWOOD, Ark.- For decades, the speed limit on Highway 107 from the Brockington Road intersection to Kellogg Road was 55 miles per hour. According to the Mayor of Sherwood, Mary Jo Heye-Townsell, this speed limit was set before the city began to grow.

“When it was originally 55 miles an hour, that was when that area was undeveloped. Now, we have neighborhoods that have popped up all down through there,” said Heye-Townsell.

According to ARDOT statistics, about 19,000 people drive on Highway 107 daily, and there were 35 accidents along the Brockington Road stretch in 2025.
