Cases of alpha-gal syndrome rising in Northeast Arkansas

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Cases of alpha-gal syndrome are rising in Northeast Arkansas, and a simple tick bite in your own backyard could change the way you eat.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health, confirmed and probable cases of alpha-gal jumped from 70 in 2023 to 345 in 2024. Last year, 261 cases were reported.
