As America’s war with Iran continues, a spike in diesel fuel prices is stretching Dane County farmers’ budgets.

Wisconsin has seen the steepest jump in diesel costs of any state in the country over the past year, rising by nearly 90% as the Strait of Hormuz, one of the Middle East’s major oil shipping choke points, has seen significant disruption to tanker traffic.
