MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Memphis man will spend 15 years in prison for helping a group rob banks across the city.
Courtney Trenell, 34, was found guilty of driving the getaway car during two bank robberies and joining a plan to target six banks in Memphis. Prosecutors said Trenell and others robbed Bank of Bartlett and First Horizon Bank, which sit across the street from each other, on Oct. 20, 2023. The group hit both banks at the same time to try to confuse police.
A jury convicted Trenell after an eight-day trial in July 2025. Two others, Devins Hinds, 36, and Joshua Cribbs, 33, were also found guilty of joining the conspiracy and robbing banks…
