Man charged after THP high-speed chase ends in crash, records show

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man has been taken into custody after a high-speed pursuit ended in a crash on Monday.

According to the affidavit, a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper observed a Honda Civic with an expired tag and a driver not wearing a seat belt, which was then driving recklessly on Summer Avenue.

THP attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle; however, the vehicle didn’t stop, accelerated to over 100 mph while traveling on the wrong side of the road, and disregarded multiple stoplights.

THP said the pursuit continued for eight miles before the driver, identified as Charles Ostran, lost control of the vehicle, striking a fence and crashing onto Bartlett Road…
