HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — At Salt Pond Beach in Hampton, waves were getting up to the stilts of homes, almost like a scene from the Outer Banks.
“So I thought, I’ll come and see what Mother Nature and what the ocean left,” Kimberly Roll told 10 On Your Side. “This is all I found because it’s so high. I usually come over and do a lot of sunrises and clean up and things like that. I have not seen it this violent and this intense.”
Further up the Peninsula, Gloucester County took Wednesday off school because of tidal flooding conditions. It was not even a remote learning day. York County is taking Thursday off as well. Further south, in the Old Fox Hill neighborhood of Hampton, water was getting up past the docks.
