Florida officials continue search for alligator that attacked woman in Inverness

INVERNESS, Fla. (WFLA) — A week after a woman survived an attack while swimming at an Inverness park, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission said it is still searching for the alligator that bit her.

Nikki Weber was enjoying Memorial Day Weekend with her children at Wallace Brooks Park when an alligator latched onto her leg.

According to records from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 caller could still see what they estimated to be an 8-foot gator swimming in the area after the attack…
