An inspector visited a popular restaurant in The Villages and found that flies were roaming from the outside bar into the kitchen.
City Fire at Brownwood Paddock Square was visited on May 19 for a routine inspection by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The inspector cited the restaurant for four high-priority violations and seven basic violations, ultimately ruling that a follow-up inspection is required.
The most notable high-priority violation involved the presence of live, small flying insects. According to the DBPR report, the inspector observed one fly in a dry storage room near the cookline, four flies crawling on a clean dish rack in the warewash area, one fly inside a clear plastic pan on a clean dish rack, and two flies in the bar area.
