PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona’s attorney general has reached settlements with Greystar and two Valley apartment complexes over junk fees that left renters paying more than advertised.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that three settlements were reached with Greystar, The Julia Apartments in Mesa and Avana Gilbert.
Greystar will pay $23 million to the Federal Trade Commission, with $1.5 million of that amount going to Arizona renters. The company is required to be transparent about the total monthly leasing prices and mandatory fees to residents.
