PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Later sunsets return to Portland as the sun dips below the horizon at 8:01 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026.
The earlier sunrises and later sunsets are all part of the growing daylight minutes seen during the month of April. Portland will gain a total of 88 minutes during the fourth month of the year. The 8:00 p.m. sunset is the latest sunset Portland has seen since late August of 2025.
The increasing daylight will also help the Pacific Northwest warm. The added daylight also helps the buds and blooms of spring ramp. So too does the pollen counts rise as the temperatures do the same across the Pacific Northwest this weekend…
