Wrong way semi-truck driver leads to rollover, injuries

BIGGS JUNCTION – A wrong-way semi-truck on Interstate 84 near Biggs Junction on Monday caused a rollover crash that sent two people to the hospital.

An Oregon State Police report says the semi-truck driver, a 71-year-old man from Vancouver, Washington, turned westbound off U.S. 97 into the eastbound lanes of I-84. A Toyota 4Runner that was traveling the correct way in the eastbound lanes took evasive action to avoid the semi-truck and rolled.

Both occupants of the 4Runner were transported to a local hospital with “visible physical injuries”, but no further details on their injuries were released. The victims were a 23-year-old female and a 28-year-old male, both of Boise, Idaho…
