PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After being displaced by a neighboring house fire earlier this month, members of a Southeast Portland band returned home to discover thousands of dollars worth of musical equipment had been stolen.
Jake Sargent and Schea Bowden of the band The Recognitions said burglars broke into their Belmont neighborhood home while they were staying elsewhere. All this following a fire next door that forced evacuations in the area.

The neighboring fire was so intense that three firefighters were burned through their protective gear while battling the blaze at a home under renovation, according to the Portland Fire & Rescue.
