ROANOKE, Va. – With the new school year just around the corner, some local students got a helping hand on Saturday from the fourth annual Cuts with Cops.
The event occurred at Carilion Children’s Tanglewood Center and provided kids with free haircuts, new shoes, backpacks, school supplies and vaccines to get families ready for the 2026-2027 school year.
Organizers say the event has grown each year. They said that over 800 backpacks were available this year, and about a dozen barbers donated their time to help give kids a new cut…
