ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A life-long Rockfordian celebrated her 100th birthday Saturday surrounded by dozens of friends, family and community members.
Roberta M. Drayton turned 100 on July 14, and her family put on a big celebration at Prairie Street in honor of the milestone.
She’s the mother of four sons and two daughters. One son describes her as an educator, leaving a lasting impact on generations to come.
“My mom is a one-in-a-million,” Robert Drayton said. “She’s a people person, really, and that’s why people love her so much. She’s very, very intelligent and she loves family. She treats everyone like family.”…
