Lifelong resident and local business owner Laurie Redieske has officially announced her candidacy for Mayor of South Beloit in the upcoming Spring 2027 municipal elections.
Redieske, who owns and operates Lolligags, a full-service salon she opened in 2000 alongside her husband Josh, says her deep roots in the community and a desire to restore South Beloit motivated her decision to run.
“I am running for mayor because I love the City of South Beloit and have always wanted to serve the community at a higher level,” Redieske said. “Now, with my children all grown up and my business established, I have the time to do so.”
A Deeply Rooted Family Tradition of Service
A 1995 graduate of South Beloit High School, Redieske’s commitment to her hometown spans decades. While attending cosmetology school, she coached high school cheerleading. Over the next quarter-century, she and her husband volunteered extensively with the South Beloit School District and the Stateline Boys & Girls Club before founding a local youth football program that continues to thrive today.
