ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police used helicopter assistance from U.S. Homeland Security to track a suspected drug dealer who engaged deputies in a high-speed pursuit on Friday.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on patrol near 9th Street and 17th Avenue at 11:17 p.m. tried to stop a speeding 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, but the driver sped away.
According to court records, the driver, later identified as Tronte Pickett, 32, ran through stop signs and accelerated to speeds up to 70 mph in 30 mph zones…
