Motorcyclist Airlifted to Rockford Hospital

Motorcyclist Airlifted Following Two-Vehicle Crash

On August 26, 2026, at 11:16 a.m., the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts and Union Fire Protection District were dispatched to the intersection of Dunham Road and W. Union Road for a reported crash involving a motorcycle.

The first arriving unit confirmed a two-vehicle crash had occurred directly in the intersection involving a motorcycle and a minivan. An adult female motorcyclist was found down in the roadway after being ejected from the motorcycle during the crash. The motorcycle had become lodged in the driver’s side of the minivan.

Paramedics immediately began assessing and treating the motorcyclist and determined she had sustained serious injuries. Due to the severity of her injuries, a medical helicopter was requested to the scene and landed on W. Union Road, just east of the intersection.

The occupants of the minivan were evaluated at the scene and reported no injuries.

The motorcyclist was subsequently airlifted to Javon Bea Hospital—Riverside in Rockford for further treatment.

The intersection of Dunham Road and W. Union Road was closed in all directions for more than an hour while emergency crews operated at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Any additional information regarding the cause of the crash or circumstances leading up to it should be directed to their office…
