ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man is charged with the 2015 death of a 3-month-old infant.
The incident occurred on December 31, 2015, when an unresponsive infant was taken to the now-former Rockford Memorial Hospital on North Rockton Avenue. He was later taken to a Chicago-area hospital and died on August 13, 2025.
Detectives spoke with both parents during the investigation. The father, Michael Wilson Jr., was home with the child when the incident occurred. According to court documents, Wilson Jr. said he woke up to strange noises coming from the child’s crib. He told police he picked up the child and tried to resuscitate him, but the child did not respond. He called his wife to tell her to come home, and she advised him to call an ambulance…
