ROCKFORD — A new business envisioned as a creative hub for artists and entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their work has opened in Midtown.
The Pop Up Shop, 522 Seventh St., is designed to give a rotating cast of vendors a chance to sell from a storefront. It held its first event on 815 Day, and it is hosting regular pop-up shopping events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The goal is to expand with more hours this fall.
“We want to provide a space to uplift artists and entrepreneurs alike,” said co-owner Brian Harrington, a musician, artist and poet who goes by the name King Moosa. “Being in a store is something most entrepreneurs never get a chance to do. They’re doing stuff out of their house … or online, but not many people can have a local store.”…
