St. Petersburg man sentenced to over 16 years for drug distribution

TAMPA, Florida — A 35-year-old man from St. Petersburg has been sentenced to more than 16 years in federal prison for drug distribution charges.

Ben Gordon, of St. Petersburg, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John Badalamenti to 16 years and 6 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office. Gordon pleaded guilty on February 22, 2026.

Court documents reveal that on September 6, 2023, DEA task force officers conducted an operation using a confidential source to purchase one pound of methamphetamine and approximately 27 grams of fentanyl from Gordon.
