Driver loses control, Mustang ends up perched on guardrail in Staten Island crash

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Ford Mustang convertible came to rest atop a guardrail after the driver lost control along a stretch of Mill Road in Oakwood on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred on the 300 block of Mill Road near Oak Avenue shortly before 8 p.m.

The vehicle’s rear driver’s-side wheel was elevated on the crumpled guardrail, while the rest of the Mustang stopped near shrubbery bordering a nearby home.

An NYPD spokesperson said several 911 callers reported that the vehicle’s occupants had left the scene. However, a resident who identified himself as Mark told the Advance/SILive.com that the male driver remained at the location and was not injured…
