Syracuse Juneteenth festival fills Clinton Square with music, food and celebration

Clinton Square was filled with music, food and celebration as the community came together for Syracuse’s Juneteenth Festival, honoring the history of Juneteenth while celebrating culture, community and the freedom it represents.

Organizers said Juneteenth is about honoring the past while recognizing progress, a message reflected throughout the day as live music, vendors and families filled downtown Syracuse.

Kevin Stephens of the Kevin Stephens and Free Spirit Band called Juneteenth “a day of freedom, a day of recognition, to honor all of those who came before us. It’s just a great day that we set aside for our people.”…
