TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A late-night fire in a wooded area off Apalachee Parkway threatened a nearby structure before Tallahassee firefighters quickly brought it under control.
At about 10:03 p.m. Sept. 27, the Tallahassee Fire Department was dispatched to a reported outside fire in the 3500 block of Apalachee Parkway. Firefighters arrived to find a large fire involving a vacant pole barn in a wooded area, with flames threatening a nearby structure.
Because crews had difficulty accessing the fire, firefighters extended about 450 feet of supply line into the wooded area and added attack lines to begin suppression efforts.
