Joe Musgrove struggles as Padres lose 9-3

The Padres took a tough loss to the Phillies on Friday night, mostly due to the differences in starting pitching. Joe Musgrove struggled mightily, allowing 7 runs in just 3.2 innings, including 4 home runs to opposing hitters. Meanwhile, Aaron Nola cruised for the Phillies, striking out 10 Padres over 8 innings while allowing just 3 runs. 2 of those runs came after the outcome of the game was no longer in doubt when Graham Pauley hit a 2-run homer to straight away center field in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Padres will look to regroup on Saturday with Dylan Cease on the mound.
