A 20-year-old Boyds man has pleaded guilty in connection with a fatal drunk driving crash that killed a 71-year-old woman in Germantown last year.
On August 5, Brody Richardson pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Circuit Court to one count of grossly negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle and one count of homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol per se. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 30, 2026, and faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison under the plea agreement.
The charges stem from a crash that occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 21, 2025, at the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Mateny Road. According to the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, Richardson was driving a 2021 Mazda 3 northbound on Great Seneca Highway at approximately 94 mph when he struck a 2018 Subaru Forester driven by Mary Elizabeth Moody, 71, as she was making a left turn onto Mateny Road.
