BALTIMORE, Md. — A Baltimore County man has pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges after carrying out multiple schemes to fraudulently obtain state public contracts, relief grants and tax funds, Maryland officials announced.
Walter O’Riley Poindexter, 51, of Windsor Mill, admitted to charges including bribery, procurement fraud and felony theft in Baltimore County Circuit Court before Judge Stacy A. Mayer, according to Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown.
Prosecutors said Poindexter illegally obtained $417,451 and attempted to steal an additional $92,672 between 2020 and 2024 through state cleaning contracts, disaster relief grants, unemployment benefits and fraudulent tax filings…
