Three Stockton City Council members sought to schedule a special closed session concerning the city clerk’s position before Mayor Christina Fugazi called a similar meeting that was later canceled, according to emails obtained by The Record.
An email sent at 5:10 p.m. Friday, July 31, and obtained this week through a California Public Records Act request, shows District 1 Councilmember Michele Padilla asked City Clerk Katherine Roland after business hours to schedule a special city council meeting for 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, to consider a closed-session item concerning the discipline, dismissal or release of the city clerk.
