ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County District Attorney said a repeat offender has been convicted on drug trafficking and habitual felon charges.
The district attorney said 56-year-old Henry Christopher Aiken pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in cocaine and to attaining habitual felon status on Tuesday.
Aiken has been sentenced to serve 87 months to 117 months within the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction with a mandatory $50,000 fine, according to the district attorney.
Due to his extensive criminal record, the district attorney said Aiken was prosecuted as a habitual felon. Under North Carolina law, this means a person convicted of a fourth felony, following three prior sequential, non-overlapping felony convictions, must be sentenced at an elevated felony status…
