Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center and White Oak Medical Center have once again been recognized by the American Heart Association for the care they provide to patients experiencing strokes and heart attacks.
Both Montgomery County hospitals received the American Heart Association’s 2026 “Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus Award with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.” The recognition is given to hospitals that consistently follow evidence-based treatment guidelines designed to improve outcomes for stroke patients. Shady Grove Medical Center also earned the “Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus”designation for meeting additional measures related to timely and advanced stroke care.
Both hospitals were also recognized for their treatment of patients experiencing non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, or NSTEMI, a serious type of heart attack caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.
