REDDING, Calif. – A traffic stop on Interstate 5 led to the discovery of a large amount of narcotics and the arrest of a Lodi man.
California Highway Patrol officers pulled over a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 5 near Dog Creek Road for a traffic violation on Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m. The driver was identified as 26-year-old Rion Hendrix Scovil of Lodi.
During the traffic stop, officers found approximately 50 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 pounds of fentanyl and 2 pounds of cocaine. After discovering the suspected narcotics, the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force responded to take over the investigation…
