High traffic volumes cause backups in western Sedgwick County

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Drivers in western Sedgwick County are experiencing increased traffic and longer backups along U.S. Highway 54 as the area has seen significant growth in recent years.

As more people live and work in western Sedgwick County, drivers say rush hour can mean extensive delays, especially around 119th and 135th streets.

Wichita resident Jennifer Wiens has watched the area change over the last several years.
