Donna Sheely has traced her American ancestry back to Colonial times – 12 generations, as a matter of fact.
The York resident, who works a registered nurse at WellSpan York Hospital, was dressed in a Colonial-era dress as she greeted visitors to the York County History Center July 4 as the county celebrated the America’s 250th anniversary of its independence.
“I’m so proud my family helped make America,” Sheely said, “that they were there and were willing to risk their lives for freedom from England.”…
