A Community Development District 2 supervisor is inviting residents to discuss the fate of gopher tortoises living in a local wildlife preserve.
CDD 2 Supervisor Tom Swiers will host a presentation on the tortoises during his monthly question-and-answer meeting, set for 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the El Santiago Recreation Center.
The gopher tortoises living in the Harold Schwartz Wildlife Preserve along Buena Vista Boulevard have been a divisive topic on the CDD 2 board.
