MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities say five men are now in custody after allegedly attacking one man who stopped them from harassing an unhoused person early Wednesday morning.
According to a release from the Madison Police Department, officers responded at 12:43 a.m. to the intersection of North Carroll Street and West Washington Avenue where they found a man bleeding and suffering from several injuries.
The victim told police that he had stepped in as a group of five men was harassing an unhoused person. The group of five then attacked the victim, repeatedly punching and kicking him, even putting him into a chokehold.
