Man arrested after shootout damages three vehicles in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a man was arrested after a shootout with another suspect.

The incident occurred in the 400 block of Briarwood Drive on May 16, 2026.

According to police, officers detained DeMarcus Griffin, 26. They said Griffin exited a vehicle in front of the building with a gun and got into an argument with another man. Police said a fight took place between the two, which led to the exchange of gunfire. Three vehicles were damaged.

Investigators said Griffin was identified as a suspect through surveillance video. He was arrested and charged with three counts of shooting into occupied vehicles…
