ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A line of severe thunderstorms and gusty winds caused thousands of power outages in the Rochester region.
The worst right now is in Orleans County, where National Grid has almost 1800 without power. The good news, is as of 3:30 p.m. the numbers have fallen dramatically to just a few hundred. for RG&E customers in Monroe County.

Aside from the rain and wind, the air quality is in the unhealthy range, reaching almost 200 between 11 a.m. and noon.
The weather has resulted in some community events being cancelled, including the Rochester Pride Festival. The Hilton Fire Department has cancelled today’s “Kiddie Parade” and the carnival grounds will remain closed until 6 p.m…
