MONROE COUNTY, N.Y. — Saturday is marked with severe thunderstorms, thousands of RG&E outages, event cancellations, and a tornado warning in the Canandaigua area.
Tornado warning
There was a tornado warning in the Canandaigua area, according to the National Weather Service on Saturday afternoon. The warning has since ended as of 1:45 p.m.
The affected areas included Geneva, Canandaigua, Clifton Springs, Phelps, Bloomfield, Farmington, Gorham, East Bloomfield, Manchester, and Shortsville. The weather service said a severe thunderstorm, capable of creating a tornado, was located near Canandaigua, moving east at 35 mph.
